Last week, after Paris, after months of watching the tiny boats streaming out of Syria, after the wrenching ringer of endless news we just haven’t been able to shake, we gathered together with friends for a quiet dinner, to pause for a moment of joy and camaraderie amidst the turmoil, before we were all flung into the whirlwind of travel and scarves and cinnamon-scented hugs that we knew was coming our way this week. At this dinner, one of our dear friends offered this blessing:
For food in a world where many walk in hunger;
for love in a world where many walk in fear;
for friends in a world where many walk alone;
for this we are ever thankful.
And it struck us truly at that moment how very thankful we are.
We hope you have a lovely holiday, darlings.
