In the atelier: Le Petit Trou

| Lingerie

As enamored as we are of the matching set, we never imagined we would be as crazy for bottoms—and only bottoms—as we are for Le Petit Trou’s cheeky and cheek-eeee bikinis. Don’t get us wrong, we (obviously) still love our full sets full-on, but the idea of lounging Saturday-style in the sassy ouvert Lola brief topped with a cozy cashmere sweater has got us like whoa. And so, our love affiar with Le Petit Trou and the super-chic designer, Zuzanna Kuczynska, begins. Queue the Charlotte Gainsbourg (she’s a fan too) and and put the kettle on….we’re settling in for one of those effortless days where you just happen to forget to ever put on pants. Surely that happens to you too? If not, dive into Zuzanna’s white-hot atelier and learn the philosophy behind her (bottom) line.
Where do you pull inspiration from when working on a new piece?
“I look for inspiration everywhere. I love going through archives of photographs, Instagram but also my friends. I pitch them my ideas and will always take into consideration their opinion. “
What is the philosophy behind your line/design?
“My designs are guided by two main aspects: practicality and aesthetic. Le Petit Trou must be sexy but without reveiling everyhing. It has to be comfortable so that women can wear it in their daily life. I am not looking to design a “fashionable” piece, I want my line to be timeless.”20151106_LePetitTrou_BlogPost_ED_5
How should women feel when wearing Le Petit Trou?
“Women wearing Le Petit Trou should feel comfortable, sexy and confident.”
What inspired you to design lingerie specifically?
“I have worked as a stylist for many years. One day, as I was talking to some colleagues on a fashion shoot, I understood that lingerie was missing to the Polish market. “
Who’s your dream fan?
“I would love for Charlotte Gainsbourg to wear Le Petit Trou.”20151106_LePetitTrou_BlogPost_ED_2
