If there was one big take away from NYFW, it’s to embrace the bold. From Reem Acra’s incredibly luxe palettes to Jeremy Scott’s psychadelic pop art prints, we’re inspired to revisit our own wardrobe and just turn everything up a notch . . . or five. Our biggest catwalk-inspiration though? That would have to be Lela Rose’s display of wildflowers, metallics and artful embellishments on breathy, magical-feeling, barely-there fabrics. Delicate 3D florals, light, see-through tulles, and bold citrus prints left us swooning in the wake of silk chiffon long after the models made their final pass. We especially loved how some looks juxtaposed an ethereal skirt with a contrasting high waist panty underneath. Seriously, we can’t get enough. Since the show, our minds have been churning with opaque fabrics or loose knits to rock with our own retro bottoms. It’s definitely time for us to embrace the high waist (or even an entire set) under something sheer and stunning, because it looks like innerwear as outerwear is here to stay. Which, of course, is just how we like it.
