Maybe it’s our deep affection for the cattiest mama-hen of them all, Joan Rivers (we miss you, Joan), maybe it’s our secret-inner-princess-complex, or, maybe it’s just that we love beautiful, strong, women in pretty dresses (can you blame us?). Whatever it is, we’ve loved The Red Carpet since we were little girls. In fact, the only thing we might love more is lingerie. So, obviously, here are our favorite lingerie looks inspired by 2015’s Oscar Red Carpet lovelies.
Julianne Moore made her incredibly intricate custom-sewn Chanel feel as effortless as Eberjey’s Paloma chemise. In a killer lipstick-red scalloped-lace Givenchy stunner, Rosamund Pike channeled Heidi Klum’s Odette set.Patricia Arquette’s feminist fist pump for equal pay makes us proud to stock these modernist-colorblocked pieces from new designer Relique (and support a NYC-based women-run start up). Also, bravo. Nicole Kidman’s strapless Louis Vuitton gown’s subtle deco print is echoed by Olivia Von Halle’s sumptuous silk Alba Yurika PJ’s.Reese Witherspoon’s black and white tailored Tom Ford is equally as old-Hollywood-pin-up fabulous as Morgan Lane’s Casseiopeia demi and high-waisted bottom. Anna Faris’s luminous Zuhair Murad is as elegant and powerful as Fortnight’s Mira bodysuit.
