This weekend we Journelles did a lot: we went roadtripping and picnicking, we watched the sunset from across the Highline and over the Capitol building, we ate, drank, and made merry. BUT, the most heart-flutteringly lovely and sweetly wonderful thing that happend in the Journelle universe this weekend is that Brianna, our buying maven and dance-floor queen, got married to the love of her life (goosebumps!). From the perfect Saturday to Happily Ever, This Weekend We…
Brianna got married!! We are over the moon for the beautiful bride, the happy couple, and for what we know is an absolutely stunning honeymoon lingerie situation. Husband, you are welcome.
Allison K. made an entire Italian feast from scratch (from the mozzarella to the fettuccini to the hand flipped donuts) and picnicked in Central Park.
Emily discovered new fave artist and danced the night away at a ZZ Ward concert in Brooklyn, and (always the optimist) enjoyed the view while sitting in beach traffic on Long Island.
Carrie’s sweet roomie moved out (taking all of the furniture), so she spent the weekend scouting sofas (and sweet views) around Brooklyn.
Annick sipped rose and took in the view from the charming rooftop garden at Rosemary’s, snagged a crunchy chocolate-dipped cone at Big Gay Ice Cream (tastes like summer!), and caught a screening of Gigi in Washington Square Park. Tres romantique!
Allison B. went from fab to farm, taking in 360 degree rooftop-pool views of Manhattan, then throwing a little greenmarket pickling party.
Claire had brunch in Sausalito with her nephew. Those cheeks!
Karen spotted this awesome yarn-bombed mini-van en route to catch the sunset (in her signature vintage sunnies) with her sweetheart on the Highline.
Margaret, thrifter extraordinaire, found the sweetest cake stand…to fill with her ever expanding perfume collection, tested out her new running kicks, and had the simple joy of cutting into a perfectly ripe grapefruit. You can take the girl out of Florida, but can’t take the Florida out of the girl.
Jet setter Jaimie flew to Vegas, peeped the palm trees and got some sun, flew back, and roadtripped it down the Jersey Shore. Now that’s a weekend.
Suzy treated her visiting little brother to a farewell dinner of his fave Korean dish, dduk guk, skyped with her homesick puppy (brilliant, wish we’d thought of it), and made her first-ever trip out to Coney Island for the fantastical Mermaid Parade.
Christina spent some major QT with these cuties: her sweet little one Olivia and Olivia’s BFF Celine. That hug! We die.
Susannah saw an incredible sunset over the Capitol building in DC en route to celebrate her Great Uncle’s 94th birthday (he killed it in a seersucker suit and told some amazing stories), and was in total awe of Sunday’s supermoon.
Whew! We really got into it. What did you do?
