Something about grapefruit makes us feel very grown up. It’s sophisticated–one wouldn’t call it sweet–with a bit of bite that’s balanced perfectly by its pretty pink hue. Funny, that’s exactly how we feel about Eberjey’s pop-of-pink Jade Chemise. Perhaps that’s why we think these two pair just perfectly. This sweet-tart chemise is classic— easy, effortless, with a bit of sheer-laced zing. And the Greyhound is one of our classic favorite cocktails— easy, effortless, with an aromatic rosemary-sugar rim. A match made in heaven, we say.
Italian Greyhound with Rosemary Sugar
1 tablespoon of freshly chopped rosemary
1/4 cup sugar
1 – 2 ounces gin (you could also use vodka or even, gasp, tequila)
4 ounces of grapefruit juice
A splash of bitters (we like this one from Fee Brothers)
Start off by combining the rosemary and sugar. Rub the rim of your glass with a slice of grapefruit. Dip the rim of the glass into the rosemary sugar until it’s fully covered. Add the ice, gin and juice, and top it off with a splash or two of bitters. Stir gently, slip into chemise, and enjoy.
